HAMILTON PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH - LEADERSHIP - Session

Elders
Along with the Minister as Moderator, the elders comprise the Session, which is the governing body of the church.  Those who are elected to these positions should be persons of faith, committed, and have good judgment.  Their duty is to strengthen and nurture the faith and the life of the congregation.  The term is 3 years, and one can serve for 2 terms.  Once you are ordained as an Elder, you are an Elder in the Presbyterian Church (USA) for life.  The Session usually meets the third Tuesday of each month.
