Preschool Staff

Three Day Staff:

Kara Irwin (Miss Kara) - I am very excited to be teaching the 3 day program. I started teaching here at Hamilton Church in the fall of 2004 working with our 2 day class. Last year I taught our 3 day class and I really enjoyed it! I am married and have 2 daughters’ ages 15 and 9. We have lived in Bethel Park for 15 years and have been members of Hamilton Church since 1998. I have always enjoyed working with children. I did some substitute teaching at Baldwin United Methodist Preschool, as well as care for many of the children of the families of Hamilton Church. My husband and I are honored to be able to teach the 9th through 12th grade Sunday School Class. We journey into our 8th season starting this fall. I also enjoy helping with our Vacation Bible School program. It gives me a chance to see the children again over the summer.
Several years ago I was selected by the County to teach classes on Peer Pressure, Safety and Self Respect to underprivileged children in the Baldwin area. In this same community I was able to help start a mission program called “Bits and Peaces” so I could continue to help these children with books, food, clothing, school supplies, toys, and beds. I also love to be involved with my girls school functions i.e.: dress like a clown for the Halloween party, read stories during library time, chaperone every field trip, I’m good to go. I can’t wait to get to know all of you and look forward to spending time with your children. It is going to be a great year.

Ms. Lorraine Stahl (Miss Lori to our students) - I have been a very active member of Hamilton Church since 1953, and have been singing in the choir since I was 9 years old. Some other church activities have included being the choir Vice President, elder, helping with Vacation Bible School, and handling props for various musical fund raising events.
Prior to working at the preschool, I worked in banking for 23 years. I have one daughter who lives in Atlanta and of whom I am very proud. I am so excited to be sharing time with all of your children while here at preschool.

Two Day Staff:

Mrs. Mary Oermann (Mrs. O to our students) - I am very happy to be returning as the two day teacher this year. One of my greatest joys in teaching is to see how my students grow and mature over the course of the year. It never ceases to amaze me!
In the past I have taught at Kingdom Kids Nursery School at Mt. Lebanon United Presbyterian Church. I am currently teaching Monday, Wednesday and Friday at Christ United Methodist Church.
I am married and have one daughter who is entering her freshman year at Washington and Jefferson College. I am looking forward to meeting our new students and to another exciting year at preschool!
