The Adult Sunday School class meets in The Lounge at 9:30 Sunday mornings for a coffee fellowship, Bible passage sharing, a video lesson and discussion, prayer, and support of each other.
Our goals are: to bring us closer to our Lord and Savior with our church family, learn and share the Word of God, gain new perspectives on scripture, share the love of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, get more of God in our lives, and build Christian friendships like no other.
On the first Sunday of Lent, March 10th, the Adult Bible Study will be starting a new DVD series about our Lord and Savior at 9:30 in the Lounge. And what better way to do this than by walking through the book of John. We are going to cover a lot of ground in the 6 weeks. This study is entitled: “John: The Gospel of Light and Life” by Adam Hamilton.
You may be asking yourself:
Who should come to this study? Well……… This study is: for those who are a little rusty regarding the life of Jesus or for those (like me) who want a refresher on the Life and Ministry of Jesus or for those who would like to share their knowledge of Jesus with your family and others. Answer: Everyone should come.
What are we going to share? Well…. The Gospel of John is the most deeply spiritual of the four gospels. This writing is filled with rich images and profound truths, but John notes that his aim in writing the gospel is that readers will not only believe in Jesus Christ, but that they “may have life in his name.” This Lent we can experience a season of spiritual growth and life-changing renewal in Adam Hamilton’s six-week, DVD-series, “John: The Gospel of Light and Life”. We’ll follow the life, ministry, death, and resurrection of Jesus through the Gospel of John. Answer: We are going to share The Word.
Why should you come? Well…. If you want to learn more about our Lord or you want to share the word with family and friends or you want to live more like Jesus or you just love Jesus, our Savior, we will see you on Sunday mornings. Answer: Why not?
The book of John is the favorite book of the Bible for most Christians and this book includes some of the most loved verses in the New Testament: “And the Word became flesh…,” “For God so loved the world...,” “You who are without sin cast the first stone…,” “I am the resurrection and the life...,” and “I am the way, and the truth, and the life….” What better way is there to prepare for the Easter season, than to walk through the book of John. This study uses Scripture, stories, and the teachings of Jesus for each of our lives. Each week we will be watching a 15 minute video, including: “The Word Made Flesh”, “The Miraculous Signs of Jesus”, “ The ‘I Am’ Sayings of Jesus”, “The Farewell Discourse”, “The Arrest, Trial, and Crucifixion of the King” and “Eternal Life”. Wow! Following the video we will have lively discussions about the video and scripture.

So set your alarms a wee bit earlier for 6 Sundays during Lent in preparation for Easter. Come one and come all, to join us on our journey to the empty Tomb and the Resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ. The coffee will be hot and ready to drink. And who knows what other surprises you might see or taste on Sunday mornings at 9:30.
